Pinocchio (Grade 1 Level)

Once upon a time, there was an old man named Geppetto. He was a woodcarver. He made a cute puppet out of wood. He named him Pinocchio.

One night, a kind fairy came. She used her magic wand and Pinocchio started to move! Pinocchio could talk and walk. But he had to be a good and honest boy to become a real boy.

The next day, Pinocchio went to school. But on the way, he met a fox. The fox was tricky. Pinocchio followed the fox and did not go to school.

Pinocchio felt bad. But there was a problem: Every time he told a lie, his nose grew longer! Everyone could see that he was lying.

Pinocchio learned his lesson. He went back to Geppetto. He promised to be a good boy and never lie again. The kind fairy was very happy. She turned Pinocchio into a real boy.
