Once upon a time, there was and there was not. In olden times, amidst sifting of grain and straw, while we were gently swinging in our mother's cradle, there was a tiny boy named Oraz. Little Oraz used to go rooting around in the ash heaps every day. While rooting around in the ash heaps, he found a bundle of gold.
His neighbors couldn't stand this. With repeated insistence, they said to Oraz: "If you give us this gold, we will buy you wheat and feed. What will you do with gold? Gold can't be eaten!"
So, he gave the gold to his neighbors. The neighbors took the gold and left but never returned. Oraz waited one day, he waited three days, he waited five days, but neither the feed nor the gold came. Oraz said: "I will go and find the son of that Bey (Lord) who took my gold."
He woke up early in the morning and left the house. While walking on the road, he came across a hen. The hen said: "Where are you going, Brother Oraz?"
He said: "The Bey's son took my gold, and I am going to get it back."
The hen said: "Can I help you too?"
"You can. Come on, you come too. Get behind me," he said.
While walking on the road, he ran into a fox. The fox said: "Where are you going, Brother Oraz?"
He said: "The Bey's son took my gold, and I am going to get it back."
Upon this, the fox said: "Will you take me too?"
"I'll take you, get behind me," said Oraz.
Oraz took the fox with him and continued on his way. As they walked, he ran into a big bear. The bear said: "Where are you going, Brother Oraz?"
Oraz said: "The Bey's son took my gold, and I am going to get it back."
The bear said: "In that case, will you take me too?"
"Get behind me and I will take you," said Oraz.
He took the bear too. The hen, the fox, and the bear set off with Oraz. They walked and knocked on the Bey's son's door. Oraz called out angrily: "Bey's son, give me my gold! Bey's son, give me my gold!"
The Bey's son shouted from inside: "Would the Bey's son take out your gold and give it to you?"
Oraz, annoyed, said: "What are you saying? What are you saying? Just open the door a little; I can't hear you. Say what you have to say that way."
So, the Bey's son opened the door a crack. The bear leaned on the door, the fox immediately bit the Bey's son, the hen cackled, and Oraz took his gold back.
On their way back, Oraz bought food for himself and his friends with the gold.
They supported each other all their lives. They stood against injustice and protected one another. The four friends lived happily ever after.
